We are heading into September and it's time for The Slide Factor to get some gigs in our area. So Open Mics to intorduce ourselves to new folks and keep our stage chops up. We'll be at the " Q Cafe " Tuesday evening in Magnolia and then it's off to "Chilliwack B.C. " for their annual Bluegrass Festival and a chance to spend some time with our good neighbors to the north. Hope to see some of you at these gatherings. |

Welcome to 2009 the year of the Slide Factor. I have a feeling that change is good for all. One of my favorite words of wisdom has been "to grow is to change and to make many changes is to grow much." I will not be at Wintergrass this year because we will be in Melbourne Florida with family for a once in a lifetime reunion of the three brothers and all our children and my wonderful grandson. We will be visitin my mother and getting some needed sunshine. We are hopeful of catching a Shuttle Launch that is scheduled for that week also. The Slide Factor will be getting in the studio finally for our first recording project and hope to have a c.d. out this spring. We are recording at David Lange studios in Tacoma Washington. We will be traveling to Albequerque New Mexico in April and you can find us at "The Ralley" April 15th thru the 21st. We will have the Aloha Cowgirl shirts with us and the Slide Factor "Comfort Panels". We will then head up to Santa Fe and will be at the Cowgirls Barbecue for the bluegrass jam session on Saturday April 25th. |

The Wintergrass 2008 Resomania Workshop was another fine time for reso players. Dr. Slide demonstrated his 8 string DOBRO and played Well You Needn't by Thelonius Monk. Some of the guests included Andy Hall, Tab Tabscott, Greg Mass, and Tom Foote.
A fabulous surprise was a pedal steel player from Alaska who has taken up the dobro and played some fine swing steel. His son accompanied the players on bass and Greg Linder did rhythm guitar. Tabscott's 5 year old son can be seen with his guitar standing behind the group. |
